Paksoy and K&L Gates Italy have advised the EBRD on its role, along with Hermes GPE, as co-investors in and providers of financing for, Mediterra's acquisition of 70% of Arkel Elektrik Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi, the technology company manufacturing electronic components for lifts. Kolcuoglu Demirkan Kocakli (KDK) advised Mediterra on the deal, Caliskan Kizilyel Toker advised the sellers, and Travers Smith advised Hermes.

According to a summary provided by Kolcuoglu Demirkan Kocakli, the project consisted of two transactions: In the first, Mediterra acquired 70% of Arkel through its portfolio company. Simultaneously, EBRD along with Hermes, acted as co-investors and provided financing to Mediterra. In addition to the firms identified above, according to KDK, "a number of parties in different jurisdictions, including Van Campen Liem, was involved in this complex project, as it had a multi-layer structure."

The Paksoy team providing Turkish advice to the EBRD was led by Partner Elvan Aziz and Senior Associate Nazli Bezirci.

The KDK team consisted of Partner Umut Kolcuoglu, Senior Associate Begum Incecam, and Associates Ayse Aydin and Cansu Coban. According to Incecam, the team "represented Mediterra in both transactions throughout the project," and "conducted a full-fledged due diligence over the target company, negotiated all of the transaction documents with the respective parties, [and] carried out the merger clearance and the closing processes."
