SSW Pragmatic Solutions has advised the Photon Energy Group on the increase of its stake in Lerta from 24.27% to 56.75% through an acquisition from PGE Ventures, Newberg, and the ASI Valuetech Seed Fund for approximately EUR 6.9 million.

Lerta is a Polish company based in Poznan and founded in 2016. It uses a proprietary AI software platform to provide renewable energy asset optimization and energy flexibility services.

According to SSW, “Photon is now the majority shareholder in Lerta and aims to acquire the remaining shares from its two founders before the end of 2022. Lerta’s entry into the Photon Energy Group will give the group electricity trading licenses in six countries, plus a modern and scalable Virtual Power Plant platform. It is the third biggest player in the Polish Demand Side Response market, with 150 megawatts of capacity contracted for 2023.”

SSW’s team included General Partner Szymon Okon, Counsels Anna Sekowska and Tomasz Kwasniewski, Senior Managing Associate Dawid Brudzisz, Senior Associate Tomasz Sopel, and Associates Michal Zurow, Joanna Bajda, Witold Oszczanowski, Olga Nasilowska, and Aleksandra Kulik.
