White & Case has advised South Korean companies Hanwha Defense and Korea Aerospace Industries on two Polish defense contracts with the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, for the supply of K9 self-propelled howitzers and FA-50 aircraft, respectively.
According to White & Case, the two multi-billion dollar contracts were signed with Hanwha Defense Co. Ltd, the largest defense company in South Korea, for the supply of K9 self-propelled howitzers to the Polish army – with the framework contract signed with the MND on July 27, 2022, and the first executive contract signed with the MND on August 26, 2022 – and with aerospace and defense company Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd for the supply of FA-50 aircraft to the Polish air force – with two executive contracts with the MND signed in September 2022.
