White & Case has advised PKN Orlen on establishing and launching the Orlen VC fund and on its first investment in Emerald Technology Ventures' Industrial Fund.
Orlen VC "will invest approximately EUR 100 million in innovative companies involved in the energy transition," the firm informed. "The investment focus of Orlen VC is petrochemicals, energy, the circular economy, modern retail, next-generation biofuels, modern materials, new mobility, digitalization, cyber security, and industry 4.0."
PKN Orlen is an oil industry company operating in Central and Eastern Europe. Emerald Technology Ventures' Industrial Fund is a global venture capital fund investing in technologies.
