Radu Taracila Padurari Retevoescu has advised Catalyst Romania Fund II on the acquisition of a minority stake in Evolution Prest Systems, which owns the Evomag e-commerce website. DLA Piper advised the seller.

According to DLA Piper, "the EUR 2 million round from the Catalyst Romania venture capital fund will open new opportunities for Evomag, allowing the company to implement an accelerated development plan through the expansion on the local and international online markets, the inauguration of two Evomag showrooms, and the annual doubling of the product portfolio in the next three years."

Evomag specializes in the retail of IT&C products, mobile devices, home appliances, and fast-moving consumer goods.

Catalyst Romania is a venture capital fund that invests in Romanian technology companies.

"The capital infusion will allow us to take Evomag to a new level of development, both on the Romanian market, online and offline, but also outside the country," Evomag CEO Mihai Patrascu commented. "We are happy to have attracted a strong partner with experience in the e-commerce industry to support the transformation of Evomag and who shares our development vision."

The RTPR team included Partners Alina Stavaru and Roxana Ionescu, Managing Associates Adrian Hlistei-Muresan and Diana Dimitriu, Senior Associate Ana Maria Barbu, Associate Serban Halmagean, and Junior Associate Miruna Tocileanu.

The DLA Piper team was led by Country Managing Partner Marian Dinu and included Counsel Razvan Pele, Senior Associate Bogdan Buta, and Associates Noemi Popa and Andrei Gongea.
