CMS has advised the Cicor Group on its full acquisition of the Evolution Medtec Romanian engineering company.
The Cicor Group is "one of Europe's fastest-growing developers and manufacturers of high-reliability electronics for the medical, industrial, aerospace, and defense markets," according to CMS. "This new acquisition significantly strengthens Cicor’s engineering capabilities in the medtech sector, and creates one of the strongest R&D platforms in the European EMS industry," the firm reported.
Established in Bucharest in 2004, Evolution Medtec is an engineering services provider – electronic, mechanical, software, and optical development – for the medical and industrial markets. In addition to hardware and software development, Evolution Medtec has recently expanded its medical device development services by offering small and medium-series device assembly.
The CMS team was led by Managing Partner Horea Popescu and Senior Associate Elena Andrei and included Senior Counsel Laura Grigore, Counsel Claudia Nagy, Tax Director Andrei Tercu, and Associates Rares Crismaru, Simona Strava, Rebeca Vladislav, Oana Chivu, and Carmen Turcu, with further team members in Germany.
