Schoenherr has advised Risen Energy Solar Project GmbH on the sale of a photovoltaic project with an installed capacity of 20 MW, located in Giurgiu county, Romania, to Alternus Energy Group plc.
According to Schoenherr, Risen Energy Solar Project is a subsidiary of Risen Energy. According to the firm, “the company has committed to this industry as an R&D expert, an integrated manufacturer from wafers to modules, a manufacturer of off-grid systems, and also an investor, a developer and an EPC of PV projects.” Through the transaction, Risen Energy Solar Project is selling 100% of the share capital of LJG Green Source Energy Beta SRL, the project company that operates the photovoltaic park, to Alternus Energy Group.
Alternus Energy is an Irish-incorporated solar park operator. The company acquires small- to medium-sized solar photovoltaic parks across Europe. Its portfolio before this acquisition included a diversified portfolio of solar photovoltaic parks in Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Romania, with a total installed capacity of 48 MW.
Schoenherr’s team included Local Partner Monica Cojocaru and Senior Attorney Simona Lehniuc.
Schoenherr could not provide more information on the deal.
