Former DNB Bank Polska Head of Legal and Corporate Relations Adam Grzeskiewicz has joined PKO Bank Polski as its new Head of Legal Services for Litigation and Proceedings.

Before the move, Grzeskiewicz worked for DNB Bank Polska between 2005 and 2024 (as reported by CEE In House Matters on February 1, 2023). Before that, he was the Deputy Head of Legal at Raiffeisen Polbank between 2001 and 2005. Earlier, he was a sole practitioner between 1997 and 2001, the Deputy Head of Legal with the Polish Investment Bank between 1995 and 1997, and a Lawyer with Bank Millennium between 1992 and 1995.

"I am excited to take on the role of Head of the Legal Services for Litigations and Proceedings at PKO Bank Polski – an institution with an immense operational scale and strategic importance for the Polish financial sector," commented Grzeskiewicz. "In this position, I am responsible for overseeing tens of thousands of litigations and legal proceedings involving the bank, handled by a team of several hundred experienced in-house lawyers as well as numerous cooperating external law firms. Our mission goes beyond effective dispute resolution. Equally important is the systematic analysis of courtroom experience and translating the lessons learned into practical recommendations that support organizational development and improve processes, thereby increasing the bank’s resilience to legal risks. This allows us not only to respond to issues but also to proactively prevent potential problems. One of my key goals is also the implementation of modern technological solutions to improve the management of legal proceedings – including the development of tools based on artificial intelligence, enabling faster data analysis, risk identification, and support for both operational and strategic decision-making. Additionally, as an organization, we aim to place greater emphasis on alternative dispute resolution methods – such as mediation and negotiations leading to settlements. I believe that in many cases these are more effective, faster, and beneficial solutions for the bank as well as for our clients and partners. Building a culture of dialogue and seeking win-win outcomes is just as important as effective representation in court. This is an ambitious challenge that I take on with great energy, confidence in the team’s capabilities, and a strong belief that combining legal expertise, modern technology, and a collaborative approach is the best way to build a strong, secure, and future-ready organization."
