Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak has advised the Alternus Energy Group on its PLN 750 million acquisition of a 184-megawatt photovoltaic farm portfolio from Famur Group company Projekt Solartechnik. Clifford Chance and, reportedly, KKMP advised the seller.

According to SK&S, "this is one of the largest transactions in the history of the PV industry in the CEE region by value."

Alternus is an Ireland-headquartered vertically integrated independent power producer with offices in the Netherlands and the US. The company develops, installs, owns, and operates midsized utility-scale solar parks.

Present in Poland since 2011, Projekt Solartechnik specializes in photovoltaic projects, industrial energy, and wind farms.

"This partnership with Projekt Solartechnik enables Alternus to further expand our presence in the Polish market, immediately and over time," Alternus Energy CEO Vincent Browne commented. "Alternus has been and remains very active in Poland with a target to achieve over one gigawatt of operational PV solar there in the next few years. This transaction further underpins our commitment to Poland and brings our footprint to over 25% of this goal."

"We are very pleased to partner with Alternus Energy and work together to achieve commercial operation date for this portfolio and hopefully additional projects that are under discussion," Projekt Solartechnik CEO Maciej Marcjanik added. "We view this as a strategic partnership facilitating the advancement of our significant pipeline working towards achieving increased energy security and national decarbonization targets."
