The Warsaw office of Wolf Theiss has advised Burda Media Polska on its acquisition of Edipresse Polska from the Edipresse Group, a Swiss newspaper and magazine publisher. The Ozog Tomczykowski Law Firm advised the seller.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Burda Media Polska is a part of Burda International, a media company that owns 250 brands in 16 countries. According to Wolf Theiss, Burda has been operating in Poland for over 25 years and currently owns a portfolio of more than 60 publications, including National Geographic, Focus, Glamour, and Elle.
According to Wolf Theiss, through the acquisition of Edipresse Polska, Burda “introduces its successful multi-channel strategy and digital transformation focusing on the consumer business in Poland dedicated to the lifestyle, fashion, and beauty themed media.”
The Wolf Theiss team consisted of Partners Jacek Michalski and Karolina Stawowska.
Ozog Tomczykowski’s team included Partner Karol Sowa and Bartlomiej Bialy, Tax Advisors Helena Bogdanowska and Michal Czajkowski, and Attorneys-at-Law Michal Furgalski, Monika Wystrychowska-Zawislak, Marek Konczak, and Pawel Szumowski.
