DZP Helps Polregio Obtain EC’s Approval for State Aid

Domanski Zakrzewski Palinka has helped Polregio sp. z o.o. obtain approval from the European Commission for the over-PLN 6 billion in state aid it received for its restructuring.

Polregio is a Polish train operator that is headquartered in Warsaw. The company employs over 6,500 people.

According to DZP, “the Commission’s procedure, which has been ongoing since 2015, covered funds of over PLN 770 million received by the company in September 2015 from the Industrial Development Agency granted as restructuring aid and other state aid of over PLN 5.4 billion granted to the company before 2015 in the context of an overall restructuring.”
