Lesnodorski, Slusarek i Wspolnicy, working pro bono, has successfully represented journalist Polish Justyna Sliwowska-Mroz in her claims that an advertisement by Poland's Law and Justice party had violated her rights.
According to LSW, “in October 2018, during the local elections, Law and Justice published an election spot in which the image of the journalist - Justyna Sliwowska-Mroz - was used without her consent. Due to its anti-refugee language, the spot aroused a number of protests and aroused extreme emotions. The journalist brought a civil action for infringement of personal rights.” According to the firm, “on December 9, 2020, a final judgment was passed in the case - the Court of Appeal in Warsaw dismissed the appeal of the Law and Justice party, emphasizing that the party was not entitled to disseminate the image of the journalist without her consent in the 2018 PiS election spot.”
Lesnodorski, Slusarek i Wspolnicy represented Sliwowska-Mroz at the request of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, which describes the case as "an example of the use of journalists in political activities, which contradicts the principle of journalistic neutrality and integrity." According to the HFHR, "such action … damages his or her reputation and threatens the freedom of the media.”
Lesnodorski, Slusarek i Wspolnicy’s was led by Partner Maciej Slusarek.
