Piotr Szafarz, Partner in Dentons’ Warsaw office, has been appointed Head of CEE Real Estate at the firm, in which capacity he will be supported by newly appointed Partners Monika Sitowicz and Bartlomiej Kordeczka.

According to Dentons, in his new position, Szafarz “will be responsible for strengthening institutional client relationships and enhancing Dentons’s position as the leading Real Estate practice in Central and Eastern Europe.” Szafarz began his career in law at Jeantet et Associes in 1994. After five years he moved to CMS, where he stayed until 2006. From then until moving to Dentons in 2010, he was a Partner at Clifford Chance.

“I am absolutely delighted that Piotr has agreed to take the helm of our CEE Real Estate practice,” said Partner Evan Lazar, Co-Chair of Dentons’s Global Real Estate Group.

“The CEE region continues to offer excellent opportunities for investors,” Szafarz said. “I believe that after the difficult 2020, we will see a rebound and increased activity on the real estate market in the coming year."

Piotr Szafarz’s appointment is a part of the firm’s leadership transition strategy, in anticipation of Senior Partner Pawel Debowski’s retirement from the firm at the end of this year. “I am fully confident that the firm’s clients will be in the extremely capable hands of Piotr Szafarz and other stellar partners of Dentons’s Real Estate practice, who are recognized among the top lawyers in Poland,” Debowski said.
