Former Bird & Bird Counsel Andrzej Nentwig has left that firm to co-found the new Gorzelnik Nentwig Ziebinski law firm in Warsaw with former Enern Partner Bartlomiej Ziebinski and former Wento Head of Legal Jakub Gorzelnik.

Gorzelnik Nentwig Ziebinski, which brands itself as GNZ Legal, reports that the firm's primary focus is on "advisory for enterprises from the energy sector (renewable energy sources, oil and gas, conventional energy, wholesale of electricity and gas fuels, fuel and oil industry) and infrastructure sector."

According to Gorzelnik Nentwig Ziebinski, “Andrzej has advised energy sector clients since 2006. [He has] advised on a multitude of due diligence analyses, M&A, and project finance transactions in the Polish renewable energy sector, primarily in the PV industry, but also in the wind farm business. He has also advised on a number of conventional energy projects, including coal-heated power plants or CHP generation sources. He has advised energy and/or gas trading companies on a variety of regulatory issues and has represented them in proceedings before the President of the Energy Regulatory Office." According to the firm, "Andrzej also has extensive experience in the gas sector, where he has advised on, among other things, complex E&P operations related to unconventional gas plays (shale and tight gas), but also on landmark projects such as the Baltic Pipe.”

Nentwig has a Masters’ degree in law from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Prior to joining GNZ Legal, he spent five and a half years with WIercinski, Kwiecinski, Baehr, almost two years with CMS, four years in-house with BNK Petroleum, and four and a half years with Bird & Bird.

According to GNZ Legal, Bartlomiej Ziebinski has over 20 years of experience and has "successfully represented clients in the sale of projects and operational assets on the energy market, provides advisory services on all legal aspects of the investment process, including negotiations of EPC, BoP, TSA contracts, as well as power purchase agreements."

Ziebinski has a Magister's degree from the University of Warsaw. Prior to founding GNZ Legal, he spent almost four years with Hunton & Williams, over eight and a half years with Salans, over a year with PwC Legal, almost three years with CMS, and over six years with Enern.

Jakub Gorzelnik has over 12 years of experience, particularly, according to GNZ Legal, in "the RES and oil and gas sectors, [and he] has been representing clients in M&A and financing transactions of RES assets for years, negotiating sector-related construction and equipment supply contracts, advising on current regulatory issues and electricity trading, and also acted as arbitrator in matters related to energy."

Gorzelnik has an LL.B. from the University of Warsaw. Prior to GNZ Legal, he spent two and a half years with Garrigues, four years with CMS, and seven years as the Head of Legal at Wento.
