ODI Law has helped Exor N.V. obtain Macedonian merger clearance for its EUR 102.4 million acquisition of GEDi Gruppo Editoriale S.p.A. from CIR SpA.
According to ODI, “in December 2019, Exor agreed to buy a 43.78% controlling stake in GEDi Gruppo Editoriale S.p.A., which publishes prominent Italian daily newspapers La Repubblica and La Stampa, from CIR S.p.A. for EUR 102.4 million. Exor, which is the controlling shareholder in Fiat Chrysler and Ferrari, also owns 43.4% of The Economist. Exor plans to apply its media sector experience to help GEDI grow and accelerate a technological and structural transformation of the publisher.”
