Former DWF Local Partner Marcin Trepka has joined Baker McKenzie in Warsaw as a Partner in the Antitrust & Competition practice, bringing along with him three members of his team: Elzbieta Buczkowska, Martyna Wurm, and Lucja Olszewska.

According to Baker McKenzie, Trepka specializes in “Polish and EU Competition law with particular focus on restrictive practices and agreements (cartels, verticals), antitrust litigation, abuse of a dominant market position, merger control and state aid.” According to the firm, “Marcin represents clients before the competition authorities, Polish and EU courts of law, and the Polish Supreme Court. He also has extensive experience in consumer law issues, in particular in regulatory and litigation aspects."

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Trepka spent over eight years at DWF Poland and legacy K&L Gates, and four more with Chadbourne & Parke.

"We are genuinely thrilled about joining one of the best competition law practices worldwide,” said Trepka. “Baker McKenzie offers an excellent platform for competition lawyers that drives significant value for clients. This move is a perfect opportunity for us to contribute to the Firm’s world-class Competition/Antitrust practice. We will, in particular, focus on private enforcement, anticompetitive agreements, antitrust compliance, and unilateral conduct areas.”.

"I am very glad that Marcin is joining our firm along with his team,” commented Baker McKenzie Partner Tomasz Krzyzowski. “I am sure that his vast legal experience and pro-customer attitude will contribute significantly to the success of our Antitrust & Competition practice. We now have one of the largest teams of competition experts among the law firms in Warsaw, [which] can provide exceptional legal advice in every aspect of Competition/Antitrust law, including multi-jurisdictional aspects.”
