Szymon Balcerzak, Jacek Kozikowski, and Karol Polosak have been promoted to Partners at Kochanski & Partners. 

According to Kochanski & Partners, Balcerzak, who is the Head of Transaction Advisory and Analysis and Private Equity Market practice, is “experienced in the field of investment and M&A advisory, as well as in business development and strategy/finance advisory. Has a strong track record in deal sourcing and managing full transaction life-cycle from evaluating opportunities, through recommendations on investment/disinvestment strategies and structuring transactions, to negotiations, managing due diligence, and deal closing.” According to the firm, he is “responsible for sourcing and leading M&A and asset purchase/sales transactions; providing comprehensive advice to clients including the identification of potential transactions, analysis of financial and shareholder needs, development of investment strategies, project team management (including preparation of forecasts and valuations), establishing and maintaining relations with investment funds, and negotiation of transaction terms.”

Balcerzak has been with Kochanski & Partners since 2013. He holds a Bachelor's from the University of Warsaw, and Master's degrees from both Lazarski University and the Warsaw School of Economics.

Kochanski & Partners describes Kozikowski, the Head of its Asian Desk, as specializing in “energy & infrastructure projects with particular focus on greenfield investments. He provides comprehensive legal support throughout the investment life cycle, including incorporation, obtaining investment incentives within Polish Investment Zones, construction permitting, as well as drafting and negotiations of EPC and service agreements.” According to the firm, “Jacek has unique experience in handling offshore energy projects, including representing Polish gas and electricity transmission system operators (TSO) in the development of transnational offshore interconnectors. His offshore experience includes drafting and negotiating cooperation agreements, joint procurement agreements, marine consultancy service agreements, agreements for seabed and environmental surveys and for providing offshore technical support. Jacek has also experience in regulatory aspects of offshore energy projects, including projects funded under the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility.”

Kozikowski has been with Kochanski & Partners since 2015. He obtained his LLM and his Doctorate from Nagoya University.

Polosak is described by Kochanski & Partners as a “qualified advocate with more than ten years’ practice experience, specializing in corporate, commercial, and restructuring/bankruptcy matters. Karol’s practice focuses on advising international and Polish clients on mergers, demergers, restructuring and liquidation of businesses; restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings (particularly from the creditors’ perspective); M&A transactions; legal due diligence for investors and vendors; setting up all forms of business entities; day-to-day corporate requirements; and commercial contracts.”

Polosak has been with Kochanski & Partners since 2010, when he started as a Legal Assistant. He obtained his LLM from Lazarski University.
