Asters, working with Hogan Lovells, has represented PrivatBank in multi-billion-dollar litigation against its former owners, Ihor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Bogolyubov, before the High Court of Justice in London.
PrivatBank is Ukraine’s largest state-owned bank.
According to Asters, on July 30, 2025, the English court ruled that the two former shareholders had misappropriated nearly USD 2 billion of the bank’s funds through a complex re-lending scheme. The final amount of liability is to be determined in a follow-up hearing later this year and is expected to exceed USD 2 billion, including interest accrued over more than a decade.
The Asters team included Managing Partner Oleksiy Didkovskiy, Partner Oksana Legka, Counsels Anna Tkachova, Oleksandr Frolov, Daryna Ushchapivska, and Sviatoslav Ogreba, and Associates Ivanna Artemovych and Maksym Zeltser.
