Popovici Nitu Stoica & Asociatii has successfully assisted former WTA world number one tennis player Simona Halep before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a matter regarding her suspension for alleged violations of anti-doping rules.
According to PNSA, "on September 22, 2023, the ITF Independent Tribunal had imposed a four-year period of ineligibility on Halep for alleged violations of anti-doping rules. In February 2024, Simona appealed the decision of the ITF Independent Tribunal at the CAS. In a landmark decision taken by unanimity, the CAS partially upheld the appeal filed by Halep, set aside the decision of the ITF Independent Tribunal, and significantly reduced Halep’s period of ineligibility from four years to nine months. The CAS decision is final."
