Clifford Chance has successfully represented Mostostal Zabrze in an arbitration dispute before the Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris against Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions concerning the construction of the AEGIS Ashore system base in Redzikowo, Poland.
Mostostal Zabrze is an industrial group that conducts design, production, construction, and assembly activities with a significant share of exports.
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions operates as an environmental services contractor.
According to Clifford Chance, “the proceedings concerned the performance and settlement, as well as the consequences of rescission of the contract, concluded as part of the construction of the anti-missile shield system base between Mostostal Zabrze as the contractor and Wood as the employer. Pursuant to the award of the Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is obligated to pay [Mostostal Zabrze] approximately PLN 43.3 million in total. At the same time, the Arbitration Court dismissed over 99.6% of the counterclaims of the other party.”
