Biris Goran has promoted Sorin Aungurenci to Partner and made Roxana Guiman the firm's new Head of IP & Data Protection.
Biris Goran Founding Partner Gelu Goran commented on both Aungurenci and Guiman's new roles and the addition of two new associates to the firm: “In more than 11 years of practice, Biriș Goran had an organic growth and built a solid team. Therefore, a lot of our colleagues, including Sorin, have been with us since the firm’s incorporation in 2006. Both Sorin and Roxana are leaders in their practice areas which they master with dexterity and minimum efforts. Given the growth of our tax and corporate practices and the need to meet our clients’ expectations at optimal level, we recruited new associates, whom I welcome to the team and for whom I foresee a successful career ahead.”
Sorin Aungurenci becomes the seventh partner of Biris Goran. According to Biris Goran, "with over 12 years experience, Sorin is a specialist in all aspects of real estate transactions, focusing on ownership title investigation and acquisitions, construction law (including FIDIC agreements), as well as town-planning and regulatory matters. Major investors, multinationals and local developers are included among his clients. Sorin graduated from the University of Amsterdam, Faculty of International and European Law (LL.M., 2011) with a particular focus on real estate agreements applied in various European jurisdictions."
Senior Associate Roxana Guiman (Drilea) joined Biris Goran in December 2012 and primarily handles IP, IT&C, Privacy, & Data Protection matters. According to the firm, "her activity covers a broad range of legal services, including employment, corporate matters or preparation of commercial agreements across a variety of fields and sectors. Roxana has been involved in various due diligence projects for investments and offered assistance with various acquisitions, software licensing, copyright, services agreements, terms of use and confidentiality polities for different types of apps, platforms or websites, as well as with other licensing and trademark matters. Roxana is the expert in our Privacy & Data Protection team, having a wide experience in the analysis of the regulations and compliance regarding data collection and processing in various industries, with a particular focus on the digital area. Before joining Biriș Goran, Roxana worked as a Senior Contract Specialist for Oracle, both in Romania and in the London office, being involved in various major transactions, with some of the largest players in the telecom and banking industries in the Europe Middle East-Africa region."
