Former Rymarz Zdort Partner Marcin Iwaniszyn has joined Baker McKenzie’s Warsaw office as a Partner and Head of its Banking & Finance practice.

Specializing in banking and finance, Iwaniszyn was previously a Partner with Rymarz Zdort, from 2020 to 2022. He had originally joined that team as an Associate back in 2005, when it was still the Warsaw office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2010 and to Partner in 2018, staying on through the transition from Weil to Rymarz Zdort.

"Marcin joins us with the multi-person team he led at the previous firm," Baker McKenzie Warsaw Managing Partner Piotr Rawski said, "which is further proof that the firm's operating model and vision for its future development appeals to people of all ages and experience levels who want to take advantage of our international resources and capabilities to further their professional development. It also provides a good indication that we have made the right choice of practice leader who shares Baker McKenzie's values."

"Joining Baker McKenzie is a great opportunity, responsibility, and challenge which I am happy to take up together with my team," Iwaniszyn added. "I am confident that together with my team and in cooperation with Baker McKenzie's banking and finance teams around the world, we will provide Polish and global clients with access to the highest quality legal services while maintaining the way of working that my clients have valued for many years."
