Musat & Asociatii has advised car component producer Mecaplast on a brownfield investment in Romania of approximately EUR 10 million.
The investment entails the 2017 opening of a new production plant in Romania between the cities of Pitesti and Mioveni, which will produce car components for the new Duster car produced by Dacia. The Mecaplast investment in Romania is in line with its global strategy agreed with Dacia (a subsidiary of the French car manufacturer Renault) and with its goal of reducing logistical costs and being closer to its clients in the countries where they have production plants.
The legal support offered by Musat & Asociatii involved the land acquisition, and the establishment of the group in Romania, as well as assistance in other areas, such as environment and tax. The Musat team was led by Partner Monia Dobrescu and included Partners Iulian Popescu and Razvan Graure and Senior Associate Alina Solschi.
