Nove has represented UAB DK PZU Lietuva's Estonian branch in a dispute between a policyholder, an insurance broker, and a professional liability insurer regarding the question of who shall bear the responsibility for underinsurance (and is obliged to compensate the amount of indemnity left unpaid by the insurer) in property insurance.

Sorainen Estonia has advised Estectus, an SEB group property portfolio management company, on the sale of the ScalaCity office building in the Tallinn city center to Colonna investors. The newly renovated office building with a total lettable area of over 5,000 square meters will be managed by Colonna.

During the last years there have been numerous initiatives to conduct large-scale reform in Estonian copyright law. For the time being, those initiatives have abated, leaving extensive reform still waiting for its time.

Sorainen has announced that Partner Allar Joks — who had been campaigning to become the President of Estonia since May — has returned to the firm’s Estonian office, Joks was one of two candidates who advanced to the final round of voting last Saturday, September 24, 2016, but neither of candidate received the number of votes required to become president. After four rounds of voting, the country remains without a head of state.
