Schoenherr has advised Alstom Transport as consortium lead in securing and finalizing a EUR 720 million tender for the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport and Communications to supply 35 interregional electric trains along with 15 years of maintenance services.

Alstom Transport is a French multinational company operating in the rail transport market in 63 countries. It is active in the fields of passenger transportation, signaling, and locomotives.

According to Schoenherr, the contract represents Bulgaria’s first procurement of electric interregional rolling stock in two decades and will modernize national rail services by enhancing passenger comfort and safety and reducing carbon emissions. Alstom will deliver its Coradia Stream trains, each equipped with modern passenger amenities and energy-efficient technologies.

In 2024, Schoenherr advised Alstom on the Belgrade Metro Project consulting agreement (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on March 14, 2024).

The Schoenherr team included Attorney at Law Dimitar Kairakov.
