RTPR Allen & Overy has advised Ruukki Romania, a member of the Swedish group SSAB, in relation to the sale of its factory in Bolintin-Deal, Romania, to Finland's Peikko Group Corporation. Noerr advised the buyer on the deal.
Ruukki is a producer of metallic roofing sheets for residential buildings and metallic solutions for commercial and industrial buildings. Peikko — a family-owned company founded in 1965 and headquartered in Lahti, Finland — supplies a selection of concrete connections and composite beams for both precast and cast-in-situ (made on the site) solutions in a wide variety of applications.
The factory acquired by Peikko, which was built in 2007, has a total surface of 30,000 square meters and it also includes a piece of land of 60,000 square meters. Noerr reports that Peikko plans to gradually build up the production capacity of the new Romanian unit.
