Laura Toncescu has joined KPMG in Romania as Partner, Legal Services.
According to KPMG, Toncescu "is a professional dedicated to the financial services sector and has led innovative legal projects such as the first authorization of an investment fund as controlling shareholder in a Romanian bank on the basis of EU rules, the first merger between a bank and a non-banking financial institution, as well as authorization of payment institutions and online lending providers.”
Toncescu also assists listed entities with stock option plans and in operations on the stock market and she has been involved in cross-border transactions and reorganization projects.
Over the past year she has been involved in several digitalization projects for companies from various industries and has led several projects on ensuring GDPR compliance.
Along with KPMG's announcement regarding Toncescu, the company announced that Andreea Vasilescu had joined it as Audit Partner and Dragos Doros and Alin Negrescu had joined as Tax Partners.
