Clifford Chance has advised Banca Comerciala Romana and Erste Group Bank on the financing for Enery Power Holding’s acquisition of the Romanian renewable energy portfolio from Jade Power Trust.

"The transaction, which targets two wind farms in Dobrogea, two solar energy projects, and two hydroelectric plants, marks the exit of the Canadian company from Romania and the consolidation of the presence on the local market of one of the most active regional players," Clifford Chance announced.

CEE Legal Matters reported on the original transaction – Jade Power Trust’s sale of its portfolio of six renewable energy projects in Romania to Enery Power Holding – on September 9, 2022, while the closing of that transaction was covered on December 13, 2022.

The Clifford Chance team included Counsel Andreea Sisman, Senior Associates Madalina Mailat and Gabriel Toma, and Lawyer Nicolae Grasu.

Clifford Chance did not respond to our inquiry on the matter.
