Musat & Asociatii has advised tech giant Google LLC on Romanian aspects of its acquisition of Fitbit.
According to Musat & Asociatii, "founded 13 years ago, Fitbit is currently one of the leading producers of smart health and fitness wearable devices, with more than 29 million active users worldwide and 120 million devices sold in over 100 countries."
The total equity value of the global deal was approximately USD 2.1 billion. The transaction was announced on November 1, 2019 and completed on January 14, 2021, following a 15-month antitrust review process, including by the European Commission. Back in 2019, CEE Legal Matters reported that Sorainen had advised Google on Belarusian aspects of the acquisition.
