Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii has successfully represented Federatia Romana de Fotbal against Football Club U Craiova S.A in a case worth over EUR 300 million.

The Federatia Romana de Fotbal — the Romanian Football Federation — is the governing body of football in Romania. It is headquartered in Bucharest and affiliated with FIFA and UEFA since 1923 and 1955, respectively. It organizes the Romania national team and Romania women's national team, as well as most Romanian football competitions.

On June 11, 2019, the Bucharest Court of Appeal issued a final judgement dismissing the claim for about EUR 300 million brought by Football Club U Craiova S.A. after the FRF decided to exclude it on July 20, 2011.

After eight years of litigation, Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii reported, all of Football Club U Craiova's claims, "sustained through a whole suite of procedural steps, are irrevocably proven to be unfounded."

“This arguably is Romania’s most important sports litigation ever by reference to its duration and the value of the claims at stake," stated Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii Managing Associate Dan Cristea, who led the team on this deal. "We are happy and proud to have had the opportunity of litigating this landmark case file."
