White & Case has announced the promotion of 40 lawyers around the world to its partnership. The promotions, which are effective January 1, 2017, represent 11 of the firm's global practices in 17 locations. Including in those 40 world-wide promotions are Czech Banking lawyer Jan Linda and Polish Disputes specialist Michal Subocz.

CMS Poland has announced that it is inviting third, fourth, and fifth-year law students to take part in a labor law competition at the firm, with available prizes including an IPad, sets of law books, and paid internships at the firm. 

On October 1, 2016 WKB Wiercinski, Kwiecinski, Baehr appointed a new Partner: Marcin Smolarek, who will be responsible for the firm’s Banking and Finance practice.

Schoenherr is reporting that, on September 30, 2016, Michael Lagler was elected as the new Managing Partner at the firm, where he will take over from Christoph Lindinger, who has led the Central and Eastern European law firm for the past 16 years. Lagler's term will begin at the start of the firm’s next fiscal year, on February 1, 2017.

Kochanski Zieba & Partners has advised Echo Polska Properties N.V. (EPP) — a leading fund operating as a REIT — and Echo Investment S.A., the largest Polish developer, on their joint agreement to buy a real property at ul. Towarowa 22 in Warsaw from Griffin Real Estate group, Poland’s leading real estate fund, and to jointly execute an investment project on the property. Echo Investment S.A. was represented by Weil Gotshal & Manges, while Griffin Real Estate was supported by Hogan Lovells.

Clifford Chance Warsaw has advised Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. (BZ WBK) and ING Bank Slaski S.A. (ING) on the financing of the acquisition of the Krosno S.A. glasswork in liquidation bankruptcy by Krosno Glass sp. z o.o., a Warsaw company set up by Coast2Coast Capital, an investment fund from the Republic of South Africa. Dentons advised Coast2Coast on the financing, with Deloitte Legal advising it on the actual M&A, valued at over EUR 27.5 million.
