Former Counsels Michal Kulesza and Michal Pekala have been promoted to Partner at Maruta Wachta, with Kulesza leading the firm’s Financial Regulation and Technology Team, and Pekala being the Head of the Video Games & Entertainment Team.
Specializing in IT regulatory issues, Kulesza has been with the firm since 2019, having first joined as a Senior Associate and later promoted to Counsel in 2019. Before joining the firm, he worked at Deloitte Legal first joining as a Senior Associate in 2016 and later promoted to Legal Manager in 2018. Kulesza was also an Associate at Modzelewska & Pasnik between 2015 and 2016, and at Domanski Zakrzewski Palinka, from 2013 to 2015. Earlier still, he worked as a Legal Assistant at DLA Piper in 2012, and at Banasik Wozniak i Wspolnicy, from 2011 to 2012.
Pekala specializes in the video game sector and joined Maruta Wachta in 2020 as a Counsel. Previously, he spent over three years at Linklaters, having first joined as a Junior Associate in 2015, and later re-joined as an Associate in 2018 and promoted to a Senior Associate in 2019. Between 2016 and 2018, he was an Associate at DLA Piper. He also worked at Baker & McKenzie as a Lawyer from 2013 to 2015.
