DLA Piper has advised the shareholders of Edison Energia on its sale to Polenergia. White & Case advised the buyer.

The transaction remains contingent on regulatory approval.

Edison Energia is a Polish photovoltaic company specializing in photovoltaic installations for businesses and homes. Founded in 2014, Polenergia is a Polish private energy group, operating in the area of power generation from conventional and renewable sources, as well as electricity trading and distribution.

"Polenergia’s strategic goal is to increase its presence among end clients," commented Polenergia’s Management Board President Michal Michalski. "Acquisition of Edison Energia will not only enhance the product offer but will also strengthen the potential of sale of green energy and additional services, both for business clients and for households."

"Thanks to the transaction, we will be able to combine the offer of building a photovoltaic installation with the services of balancing and supply of 100% green electric energy generated in the renewable sources of Polenergia," added Edison Energia Founder Kamil Stanowski. "Using Polenergia’s potential will also allow us to offer new services to the clients, among others an aggregator which will purchase the surplus of green energy from prosumer installations and re-sell it on the market at prices guaranteeing the profitability of investments in photovoltaics."
