Marta Koremba Becomes Equity Partner and Karolina Stawicka and Maciej Georg Promoted to Partner

Bird & Bird Partner Marta Koremba has become an Equity Partner in Bird & Bird's international network, and Bird & Bird Warsaw Head of Employment Karolina Stawicka and Head of Financing Transactions Maciej Georg have been promoted to Partner. 

Koremba has been with Bird & Bird since 2013. According to the firm, “[She] has extensive experience in litigating disputes involving intellectual property rights (trademark protection rights, patent rights and industrial design rights) and unfair competition and manages large international trademark portfolios. Marta advises clients from various economic sectors ranging from life sciences and FMCG sectors to aviation and sports sectors.”

Koremba holds an LL.M. from the University of Warsaw and an LL.M. from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Before joining Bird & Bird, she spent two years with Nowosielski, Gotkowicz, Kosmus i Partnerzy, almost four years with the Kondrat Patent and Law Office, half a year with the Radoslaw Chmura Law and Patent Office, and over two years with Kochanski Zieba Rapala & Partners.

Bird & Bird describes Stawicka as "one of the co-founders of the firm in Poland where she has successfully developed the Labor Law practice from the very beginning." In addition to labor law, she also specializes in litigation, including civil and criminal law cases involving corruption and business secrets. She has an MA from the University of Warsaw. Before joining Bird & Bird in 2008, she spent three years with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, a year with Northern Ireland Public Sector Enterprises, over a year with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a year with Wardynski & Partners, a year with the Foundation for Polish Science, and a year with FKA Furtek Komosa Aleksandrowicz.

Maciej Georg has been with the firm since 2015. Bird & Bird describes him as "an expert in managing financing transactions [with] extensive experience in representing both domestic and international banks and financial institutions and borrowers. He advises on financing transactions for real estate and energy projects and on corporate financings and LBO projects.” He has a Magister’s degree in Law from the University of Warsaw. Before joining Bird & Bird, he spent almost ten years with Soltysinski Kawcki & Slezak, almost four years with Linklaters, two and a half years with Hogan & Hartson, and five years with K&L Gates.

Szepietowski added that he is “delighted to welcome Karolina Stawicka and Maciej Georg as Partners. Maciej is my right-hand man in the financing and financial regulations practice, leading our transactional team.
