Gessel Proves Detention of Former President of Plus Bank Unlawful

Gessel has successfully represented the former president of Plus Bank in a criminal trial in Poznan, Poland.

Plus Bank was founded in 1991 in Poznan under the name of Invest Bank. The bank assumed its current name in 2013.

According to Gessel, “in July last year, the first detentions were made on alleged loan irregularities by Plus Bank, and further detentions were made this year.” The firm reported that, “the [Central Anti-Corruption Bureau] then detained 23 people, including members of the management board and the former president of the bank.” Finally, the reported, as a result of its submissions, the court found that the detention of the former president of Plus Bank was unfounded and illegal.
