Greenberg Traurig has advised Ekstraklasa S.A. on the sale of media rights for the Polish premier football league to broadcast networks CANAL+ and TVP.
Ekstraklasa S.A. is a joint stock company which organizes the competition of the top Polish football league -- the Ekstraklasa. In addition to managing the league, Ekstraklasa S.A. manages the sales of domestic and international media rights and the centralized marketing rights on behalf of the clubs.
According to Greenberg Traurig, “the sale pertained to media rights for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 seasons. The total value of contracts for four seasons (2019-2023), together with the costs of TV signal production, amounts to PLN 1 billion.”
