DLA Piper has advised OX2 on the sale of a Polish 24-megawatt wind farm project to Equitix. Allen & Overy reportedly advised the buyer.

According to DLA Piper, "the project has been prepared and will be built by OX2 on the basis of an EPC contract with a transfer to the buyer planned for 2024. The wind farm in Krasnik will consist of 7 turbines, and its planned annual production will amount to about 79 gigawatt-hours. On an annual basis, this corresponds to the consumption of electricity by about 16,000 households and prevents the emission of approximately 28,000 tons of carbon dioxide from fossil fuels."

"I’m happy that we have concluded our first agreement with Equitix and to see the Krasnik wind farm go to construction," said Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2. "OX2 has become a major participant in the Polish renewable sector where we continue to increase our presence through a fast-growing organization and portfolio of wind and solar projects."

"We are delighted to be able to add the Krasnik onshore wind farm to our substantial portfolio of renewable energy assets," added Hugh Crossley, CEO of Equitix. "Equitix is committed to onshore wind as a sustainable energy resource and this investment complements our diversified portfolio of renewable generation investments that include hydropower, offshore wind, biomass, and solar energy."

DLA Piper’s team included Managing Partner Jacek Gizinski, Head of Energy Lukasz Jankowski, Senior Associate Karolina Madrzycka, Advocate Szymon Sakowski, Associates Mateusz Koszel and Wojciech Sulimierski, and Junior Associate Pawel Szostek.

Editor's note: After this article was published, PwC announced that it had advised Equitix on the deal. The firm's team included Partners Agnieszka Gajewska and Adam Demusiak, Senior Associate Piotr Maslejak, and Associate Vladislav Bystritckii.
