DLA Piper has advised Katoen Natie, an international logistics service provider and port operator, on the acquisition of the Polish warehousing activities of the Nijhof-Wassink logistics company. The sellers were reportedly advised by solo practitioner Boguslaw Kanski.

According to DLA Piper, “the acquisition includes a terrain of 25.5 hectares, 42 silos, 15,000 square meters of outdoor storage space, and five warehouses with a total space of 40,000 square meters, as well as a repacking hall, an office, and a technical building. The facilities are located in Kutno, Poland, [and are] strategically positioned next to the PCC intermodal terminal and near the junction of two main roads in Poland connecting North-South and East-West." According to the firm, "Katoen Natie will also take on 60 employees at the logistics center and current contracts, except for the transport activities of Nijhof-Wassink and the five Volvo and Renault Trucks dealerships in Poland, which will remain active [within] the Nijhof-Wassink Group.”

DLA Piper’s team was led by Belgium-based Partner Erwin Simons and included Warsaw-based Counsels Agnieszka Lehwark and Piotr Miller and Associate Pawel Szymanski.
