Zamfirescu Racoti Vasile & Partners has successfully represented the interests of Romanian bike producer Atelierele Pegas in a trademark dispute with Germany's ZEG Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft eG, the owner of the Pegasus brand of bikes, among others.

According to ZRVP, on April 22, 2021, the Bucharest Tribunal rejected ZEG's claim to have the Romanian trademark for PEGAS annulled and the sale of bikes under that name prohibited. ZEG has claimed that the registration of the Pegas trademark in 2010 had been made in bad faith, that the Romania's Pegas brand was similar to its own Pegasus brand, and that the two could not coexist on the EU market. According to the firm, in defending the interests of Atelierele Pegas, it persuaded the court that ZEG's claim was barred by the five-year statue of limitations for challenging the Pegas trademark.

ZRVP’s team was led by Partner Alina Tugearu.
