Kateryna Balaban has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Agilawyer Society in the Czech Republic. Balaban will also continue to lead UA.Support.

Balaban has expertise in legal aid and has been leading UA.Support, alongside being employed at Holubova Advokati, since March 2022. Between 2017 and 2019 she was a Legal Aide at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. She was a Trainee with Marusiak & Partners in 2018.

The AgiLawyer Society is a Czech non-governmental organization. In response to the situation in Ukraine, AgiLawyer, in cooperation with Czech law firm Holubova Advokati, has established a pro bono platform called UA.Support, which links Ukrainian refugees in need of legal help with appropriate lawyers.

"Our project UA.Support helps with legal issues arising from the situation in Ukraine," Balaban commented. "In addition to requiring humanitarian help, many Ukrainians have a pressing need for legal aid on topics ranging from immigration to employment, schooling, healthcare, and business development, as well as other areas. With that in mind, we created a non-profit one-stop-shop platform called UA.Support as a meeting place where volunteer lawyers across the globe can collaborate and link their offers of help with those in need."

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kateryna Balaban as our new Managing Director," AgiLawyer Society Chairman Ondrej Dvorak added. "Kateryna possesses brilliant communication skills and brings to AgiLawyer an interesting mix of extensive experience in the legal and business areas, as well as IT services."
