Christopher Fischer Joins DenizBank as Group Head of Legal

Former Accenture Senior Legal Contract Manager Christopher Fischer has become the new Group Head of Legal at DenizBank.

Before the move, Fischer was a Senior Legal Contract Manager with Accenture between 2024 and 2025. Earlier, he was with Paysafe as the Vice President of Legal Affairs between 2019 and 2023 and as Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Legal between 2023 and 2024 (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on September 10, 2019). Prior to that, Fischer spent a year as a solo strategic advisor. 

Before that he was with Western Union for almost 14 years, between 2004 and 2018, becoming Senior Counsel, Head of Legal EMEA-SA in 2006 and Assistant General Counsel Europe & CIS in 2009. In 2010, he was appointed Associate General Counsel the Americas and worked as Associate General Counsel Europe, Middle East, and Africa from 2010 to 2013, at which point he became VP & Associate General Counsel, Head of Legal Europe & CIS.

Earlier still, Fischer was a Senior Attorney with IBM from 2000 to 2004, and from 1997 to 2000 he was Senior Manager with Oesterreichische Kontrollbank. He was Of Counsel with Wolf Theiss from 1995 to 1996.

Fischer's shared his insight on the Austrian market in a 2018 article in the CEE Legal Matters magazine and was a speaker at the 2024 CEE General Counsel Summit.
