Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii has announced on December 12 that it promoted Gabriela Anton, Oana Gavrila, Horia Ispas, and Anca Puscasu to Partner and seven lawyers to Senior Associate in its annual promotion round.
Anton specializes mainly in banking and finance and M&A in the banking sector. She first joined the firm in December 2010 from Vilau & Mitel (which later split into Mitel & Partners and Vilau si Asociatii as reported by CEE Legal Matters on September 17, 2014). She has advised credit institutions, investment funds, and other international financial institutions, as well as borrowers on project finance and corporate finance in various industries. She has also been involved in mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, restructuring projects, and the transfer of banking assets, including non-performing loan portfolios. Her other areas of practice are corporate and commercial law.
Gavrila, who specializes in litigation, first joined Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii in May 2006. She has represented clients in contentious-administrative cases, mainly tax and customs related disputes.
Ispas works in the firm’s corporate and mergers & acquisitions practice groups, advising on private mergers and acquisitions as well as privatization projects. Other areas of particular focus for him are personal data protection and consumer protection.
Puscasu focuses primarily on commercial disputes under the rules of the ICSID, ICC, GAFTA, and VIAC. She has been with the firm since January 2006.
The firm also promoted seven lawyers — Veronica Aman, Roxana Catea, Tudor Craciun, Gabriela Dinu, Valentin Moga, Cornelia Tabirta, and Eugen Tudose — to the role of Senior Associate.
The appointments become effective January 1, 2017, at which point the firm will have 112 lawyers, including 29 Partners.
