Stratulat Albulescu has advised the American Industrial Partners Capital Fund VII on its acquisition of Veoneer's Restraint Control Systems business.

Veoneer is an automotive industry supplier providing automotive electronic safety systems. According to the company, their products were included in more than 40 vehicle launches in 2023. "In the past year, nearly one in every four cars that left the production lines globally was equipped with Veoneer’s Restraint Control System products, offering protection to vehicle occupants in the event of a traffic accident," the firm reported.

According to Stratulat Albulescu, the deal completes the "strategy of finding the right long-term destinations for Veoneer’s three original lines of business: Arriver Software, now owned by Qualcomm; Active Safety, now owned by Magna International; and Restraint Control Systems, now owned by AIP Fund VII."

American Industrial Partners is an operationally-oriented middle market private equity firm.

The Stratulat Albulescu team included Managing Partner Silviu Stratulat, Partner Ana Maria Kusak, Senior Associate Amanda Csaki, and Associates Alexandru Lazar and Cezara Mitea.

Stratulat Albulescu could not provide further information on the deal.
